To The Parents of the 13 or 14 year old boy sledding at Coffee Creek Park on Wednesday, February 2nd at around noon please inform your son that the woman he insulted with racial slurs is a 1st generation Japanese American who has just as mu...ch of a right to be here as you and him. Mom and Dad, please inform your son of hate crimes legislation because when I asked him if he knew what hate crimes legislation was he shrugged his shoulders and uttered a brilliant, "dunno." When I then questioned the quality of his education he then bragged that he was going to make millions as a snowboarder. Respectfully, I saw your son and witnessed first hand his sledding skills. My advice, just as an observer. Please keep him in school. I hope you enjoyed the snow day. I suspect you had a better day than I because I am the one that spent the afternoon with your son. Not you.
The only comfort that I took after speaking with your offspring is that I share something in common with our President. At any given time, someone is going to question my citizenship based upon the color of my skin or of how I look.
